Davianna Absera was born in Negril, Jamaica to an American/Canadian family of hotel owners. Growing up in a small Caribbean fishing village, she was exposed to island locals as well as tourists from all over the world. This experience mingled with a mosaic of Moroccan, Israeli, and Hungarian family traditions gave her an international perspective from an early age.
Educated in Canada, USA, and Europe, she spent nine years studying with students from over 50 nations in a remote alpine village in Switzerland. In this vibrant environment Davianna’s global perception developed into an appreciation of diverse cultural influences, sparking a keen interest in the different styles of communication that exist across cultures.
Her fascination with the process of mass media progressed swiftly into a passion for photography and digital media, revealing her ambition to pursue a career in advertising. The desire to create unique images and concepts that excite the viewer’s eyes was nurtured by supportive professors who helped her unearth her natural ability, while instilling discipline and developing basic skills.
Davianna is now in her second year at Pratt Institute in New York where she studies Art Direction and Advertising in their Communications Program on a merit scholarship. Her main interests are digital media, copywriting, and developing advertising campaign concepts.
